Grey to Black - refurbishing the old Dutch Barn to create Black Barn Arts

The 1950’s dutch barn was in good order apart from its broken, leaky asbestos roof.

Once that was carefully taken down, the interior milking parlour dismantled and years of accumulated farm debris removed, the volume of the building could be appreciated.

Construction of internal pods and external cladding took several months, ending in the blistering heat of this year’s 40 degree summer.

Black Barn Arts has arrived.
